Nearly 135 days after the previous coach's initial media briefing as Rangers manager, successor Danny Rohl met with reporters at Rangers' stadium for the initial occasion.

The scale of the challenge ahead of him is well known, given his predecessor's chaotic and unsuccessful 123-day tenure.

The ex- Sheffield Wednesday manager was accompanied by chairman Andrew Cavenagh, along with the frequently questioned pair of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Patrick Stewart.

However, what exactly did we learn from the young German's maiden media outing as the club's manager?

The Manager's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

One thing came through loud and clear from the new coach's first appearance in front of the Scottish media - he understands the need to secure victories, and achieve this rapidly.

The previous manager Martin lasted only 17 games and four months as manager, so the inquiry emerged about how long the new man believes is reasonable to turn around the underperforming team.

While skillfully sidestepping a direct answer that could bring later expectations, Rohl's message was very evident.

"With hope very quickly," he said. "This is essential.
"In football you have limited time. One can talk about future plans but it's understood it concerns immediate results and the short-term involves winning games. That is what I demand.
"Another aspect remains clear - I need all players to understand how we want to perform. I come back to my main theme: victory comes first, it's attractive and it's together. By following this sequence, I believe that I will remain very long at the club."

Pressure is Normal

Martin required a police escort to leave the stadium after his last game in charge.

We've witnessed how hostile environments can turn at sports teams when performances decline. Demonstrations have nearly become an expected part of game day experience on both sides of the city currently.

As Rangers' youngest manager in history, the inquiry asked about which attributes the coach thinks he has that would enable him to cope, never mind excel, in one of the most pressurized roles in UK soccer?

"I think expectations in this business are standard," he commented. "You must learn that very quickly.
"I think certain individuals could reference my age but I'm a decade and a half in this career. I experienced a great opportunity to be at Bayern Munich and be just the assistant manager, but I experienced what it means to be a head coach and the demands involved.
"You begin getting results and then certain people will say you must play attractive soccer. That's the next phase but that's exactly what I want. I relish that challenge and I look forward for what's ahead."

The Sporting Director Defends Striker Acquisition & Hiring Family Member

Kevin Thelwell media conference

There were numerous inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Much discussion has focused on the hiring of his son as recruitment chief, with supporters unconvinced about his qualifications for the position.

However, he justified and explained the choice to recruit his son to the club.

"It remains uncomfortable to listen and in appearance I believe everyone understood when we took this step to appoint Robbie that he'd be viewed in a particular way," Thelwell said.
"The reality of the situation is that we want to attract the top players here.
"My view on Robbie's career and background is he didn't need family help in football.
"He served at Aston Villa as head scout, after which he joined Norwich as head of scouting and then was elevated to development role.
"Before we hiring him, two top division teams sought to sign him. What we did right at the beginning of the process was consult with Patrick, the chairman and vice-chairman Marathe about this matter.
"I remained highly transparent and I believe he likely experienced a stricter process than anybody else who's employed by the team.
"What I do know is that he will work constantly to be successful for this football club and I anticipate seeing him demonstrating that he'll become a valuable staff member for Rangers."

Additionally, Thelwell defended the signing of forward Chermiti, who joined Rangers for a reported first payment of £8m, having failed to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portuguese youth international to Liverpool from Sporting - once more for large funds in a £15m transfer.

He was asked if he stands by his multi-million pound signing, who is yet to register in seven matches for the club.

"Absolutely, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I think Youssef Chermiti represents who's possesses huge potential.
"I haven't questioned him whatsoever. Similarly, I believe Danny will help to get the best out of the player.
"These are early days for the young player, he's a young talent and naturally with young talents they sometimes take time.
"But I'm certain over the course of his career at the club he'll demonstrate that he's a very, very good player."

The CEO Understands Fan Disappointment and Anger

Stewart was also facing firing line, given the vitriol that has been aimed at him by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the recent tie with United inviting Stewart - and the sporting director - to depart before they were packed for him.

Like his football director, the CEO did not avoid the topic.

"I completely appreciate the disappointment and anger that fans are experiencing because results recently haven't been expectations and no one is satisfied with those," he said.
"The pain and disappointment they feel is matched inside the leadership.
"Also understand that there has to be an outlet for those frustrations and in my role, I'm responsible.
"I'm a focal point for such issues and my role as a
