Intensive Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating strikes in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the capital have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by local officials.

Local officials said the metropolitan region experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and three other people were hurt.

The strikes succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated energy workers and officials were preparing for additional strikes.
